So my friend Jason, one of my bestest Christian mates ever (who has known me through my bad and good phases) read my post while we were talking on msn and responded:
Jason says:
Your story reminds me a lot of something that happend to me on my 1st full day in Perth
elaine-> The Departed on sat night says:
so i think from now on..i have ot have hte mentality of "just do it" when it comes to inviting me to these things and "to have no fear"
Jason says:
On my 1st full day in Perth, I met with an advisor from Curtin (my uni) housing service, along with a few other students, at temp accomodation (hotel) where we were staying. Then after taht we went out lookng for place to stay. when I got back to the hotel later in the afternoon (after finding my apartment), I saw a girl in the lobby who was with the gorup in the morning. She was just sitting
Jason says:
there so I decided to ask her if she found her place
Jason says:
She was from mainland china. Anyways.. we got talking and then I felt God say to me "I want you to tell her about me"... and I was like "what? you're not serious!" You want me to start talking about you with this girl I just met and hardly know, who's english isn't so good... and God was like Yes. So eventually I gave in.
Jason says:
Trying to find a casual way to start talking about God, I asked some really general question about "what is religion like in China"... and then, without me saying anything about God/Jesus, etc... she tells me that she went to church at Christmas, is really interested in the Bible and thinks she is going to become a Christian
Jason says:
SO yeah... of course I was pretty shocked!
Jason says:
You never know how God has placed you in certain situations to have impact on ppl's life
elaine-> The Departed on sat night says:
haha..no freakin way
elaine-> The Departed on sat night says:
that's awesome
Jason says:
That was one of the biggest thing's God has taught me during my time here in Australia (funny how it was on 1st day)... When holy spirit tells you to do something... do it! haha =)
Jason says:
IT's not all up to us
Jason says:
We don't know how God has been workign in other people's lives and through other people
