cool things that i've discovered

Our library opened so now we go every week and it has a great selection of audiobooks. The other library nearby has better selection since it is in a more affluent neighbourhood but it is harder to find pa arking space.

The park near our house has outdoor skating....unfortunately we discovered this as the rink was melting. I also noticed it has a splash pad. A splash pad!

We were discussing how our neighbourhood reminds us of A Winter's Bone in that every house is unique and it looks as though people like to lay "junk" outside for everyone to see. Example, I've seen a cannon, inukshuks, coke vending machine, bird shrine(?), Man-sized angle statue, and drink fridges with the clear doors that you see in the corner store, in front of people's houses.

Other stuff, I find that people in the neighbourhood don't do things 100%. Like, they have enough money to tear down an existing house and build a large one on the lot, but for some reason the new house is esthetically ugly. Same with the add ons on existing houses. People have the money to build an add-on, but they don't have the money to make it look nice. I think that's the reason why every house looks different.

Pho places are popping up...one is within walking distance but Dennis is afraid to go because the outside looks dirty. We went to a really clean one the other day and I saw this older white lady walk in with two young guys (one white, the other black) and I whispered to Dennis "Four Brothers."

We also started going to this other restaurant and I guess we are the only asian people who go. The first time we went, the waitress remarked how cute we looked and asked if we were newlyweds. We showed up the next week and even though the waitress wasn't supposed to work in our area, she came over to say "you guys came back!"

There's a mouse that got into our house so we had to buy traps but we got the kind that traps the mouse in a box so that I don't have to touch it with my hands or deal with blood.

Is it part of the Mississauga library system? If so, you can borrow PS3 and Xbox 360 games. =)
